i dont work there but i do know how annoying it is when you cant find parking. Happens all the time...

I don't go to malls at this time of the year. I feel overwhelmed by the atmosphere. It's madness.

Employee saftey should be a priority. Is there security to walk you out if you have to park far away? They should get you a designated area to park though.

Heys! I don't work at a mall but I do know how stupid/unreasonable people can be. It's obviously unsafe for you to take the long, dark walk, so IMHO, it's their responsibility to keep their employees safe in the workplace. The best you could do, if it's really a big problem (the safety issue I mean) then you could carry mace or look into other options for personal defence, especially if nobody cares if you talk to your boss/employer about it. If it were me, I'd kick up a huge fuss even at the risk of being fired, versus being attacked. =\

I hate how crowded they get but I love the fact that I can get all my shopping done in one place, and not have to continually jockey from one store to the next with the hopes of finding a parking spot within three blocks of the building. Not to mention if you go at it all day like I do there are lots of places to sit and food inside.

Yes, it's very convenient but it takes like, 20 minutes to get out of the parking lot! Even worse when you're on a bus with a boatload of people xD

I don't work at a mall, but I definitely agree with you. I have a friend who works at the mall near my church, and there's been a series of armed robberies in our area lately. We've been taking it in shifts to go in with her and chill at the mall during her shift, so that she's not walking back to her car after dark. It really is ridiculous to not have employee parking in a place that's going to be so crowded.

i used to work at a mall. IT WAS SOO BUSY during the holidays!!!

My roommate's sister just recently quit her job at the mall. She was already working too many hours and they didn't give her enough time for school work, and once holidays hit she was being given even MORE hours. So she finally just quit. Now she's looking for another job, but she refuses to work at any mall.

Two years ago I went to the mall on Christmas day...it was packed, but I managed.

the mall where i live is tiny, so there are hardly ever people there. I went there two days after Christmas. . . that was the most people packed into one building I have ever seen in my life!

Wow that is dangerous and I'm surprised they don't have special employee parking. It's not like this kind of thing is a new thing or anything.

I don't work at the mall and I avoided it altogether this year. I do work in retail though so I have seen the crowds.

Haha ya i had to go to the mall to get lip rings on christmas eve, and i went back again for some clothees on christmas and the mall was so packed haha, i hated waiting in those long lines.

just think how it was for the people working. X.X

I went to the mall a couple of days ago to get a cheap calendar for next year. I don't like the mall in general, but it was rediculous. I pitty people who have to work there. It must be horrible having to deal with a constant stream of people who get impatient easily because society has made everyone expect instant gratification. [/rant]

It is faster for me to walk to work, rather than drive and try to park.

My sister worked in a mall theater a few years back and I remember it being packed and insane. Some people were rather rude and it was overly crowded in both the lobby and in the theater areas. Not to mention that to get things took forever. It's usually because of these crowds I also try to avoid the malls around the holidays. There's a decent amount of sells, but I'm not willing to risk a limb for them. :sweat:

That is insane. It's dangerous at night and it's not right that they don't seem to have any employee parking. Have you taken the issue up at all with a mall manager or something? Or is there a way that you can either walk out with your co-workers or get a security guard that can escort you to your car at all?

I agree about employee parking! Every place should have designated spots, especially such a large place as a mall. It is dangerous if you close and then have to walk really far out in the dark. I mean predators might be evil, but they aren't stupid!

And I can imagine the mall being crazy! Maybe not right now, but I bet the days right before Christmas it was!!

I know what you mean, I had to buy my mom a gift at the mall two weeks ago and it was just terrible. There was so many people. ];

Then again, my mall is so small and crowded all the time, and I normally just try to avoid it anyway. I go out of my way to go to the one that's huge and much better 30 minutes away to the crowded one 2 minutes away. xD

I don't work at the mall, thank goodness. I avoid that place like the plague during the holidays. I work in a retail store and that was bad enough during Christmas time.

No, I don't work at the mall.. I don't really go to the mall that often. Then again, the mall in Holland really sucks, so there is no reason to go to it during the holidays unless you are shopping for clothes. Though I do love JC pennys ^^

I would not want to be working at the mall or anywhere in retail on the holidays. I feel sorry for everyone who does.
