Okay. Y'all are starting to worry me a bit. I think we need a round of hot chocolate. And, yes, "y'all" is proper for where I live. I was thrust into a lively debate between two friends about where to place the silly apostrophe. Was also corrected by someone for referring to a group of women as "you guys" and was told very pointedly that I could say "y'all" in a semi-professional/academic setting without it sounding like nails on a chalkboard.

Meep! *shrinks away from the stick* They do? *tilts head* I have to admit, while my vocabulary and knowledge of grammar is pretty good when it comes to real English, with chatspeak and such, I kinda fail... xD

xD I agree with you, Elmira. Oh, and isn't it kind of obvious that the apostrophe should be where you put it? "Y'all" is a contraction of "you all," so it makes perfect sense to have it there. "Ya'll" is improper. xD Sorry if I'm worrying you, though. I care about grammar and apostrophes and commas and things other people might not bother with; I might even want to go into studying grammar in college and become a copy-editor. *shrug* But I would love a cup oh hot chocolate right now... :XD

That's okay, I say 'y'all' sometimes. ;;>.>... I see no problem with it, as long as you use the apostrophe. We say it here, too, though not as chronically as they do where you live.
Hey, I'm proud that I rub off on other people. At least it means I've taught them something positive, you know?

Yeah, I use a comma and the the chatspeak, followed by a period, rather than making the chatspeak a new sentence. It seems silly that 'lol' should be it's own sentence, though sometimes I make it such.
Example: Wait, what did you say? Lol.
Example two: That's really funny, lol.
My best friend is planning on becoming an English teacher. Sadly, his spelling fails. ;;>.>...

Nope! You're not worrying me. It was just funny that these two guys who were covered in tattoos and piercings, shaved heads, etc., were arguing about the silly apostrophe. So, whatever is thrown at me, in my humble opinion, pales in comparison. I don't think that what happens here is obnoxious. The argument with those two guys was. And, they were quite sober.
Since I've written 20+ page papers, some of my friends who are still undergrads ask for help with editing. Some people just speak better or write better. If you heard me in person, I'd sound like a cross between a Valley Girl and a redneck.

I thought it was painfully obvious by the harsh rules on literacy on this thread. By the way, 'Nazis' needs a capital n. XP
|
I even looked at that and wondered, "Is that supposed to be capitalized?" I don't think it is though. Normally Nazis would be capitalized because it is the official Nazi party, but here I am using nazi as an adjective to describe you.

Oxy: I'm almost a hundred percent sure that 'Nazi' should always be capitalized, because you're comparing my actions to those of the Nazis.

Oxy: Yeah, see, Nazi is a noun, not an adjective. That would be like using Storm Trooper as an adjective; it doesn't work. :XD
@Cricket: I thought that's what pocket dictionaries were for, though? Still, that would probably be really fun. I wish I could be tiny and ride around in people's pockets.

Cricket: xD You'd have to jump from key to key, hitting all the letters one or two at a time. Does anyone here watch any SpongeBob? This just reminds me of the music band episode, where Plankton is doing his harmonica solo. He has to run up and down the length of the harmonica, blowing into each hole one at a time. xD Funny stuff. (He was so out of breath at the end of the solo that he fell over and passed out. :XD)

Saelia - Ahhhahahaha!! Yes, I remember that! Still makes me laugh whenever I see it.
I ran into an old friend of mine today. His wife and I went to school together, so I have anthropology on my mind. I'm afraid it will be a recurring theme.

Eep! Sorry for disappearing! I was working a bit more on Roachi's pic, and I had to go grab my dinner plate, cuz my stomach's really starting to yell at me now... ^^;
Thanks, Cricket. I'll try to remember that from now on, about the commas and such. ^^

Hunt and peck? We always just call it 'chicken pecking' and/or 'chicken typing'.

-Is watching Jason break up with Melissa- Looks like he did the same thing that was done to him. XD
Idiot. Sensitive guys shouldn't bother trying to make a relationship using shows like The Bachelor. I guess we can only hope that Molly takes him back. Because he was sobbing after breaking up with her.
Errrr.... o.o;;; Never mind. I never said that. Cricket doesn't watch stupid shows like The Bachelor and True Beauty! Honest! He swears! -Quickly changes channel and chirps innocently-

It actually took me a moment to figure out which show you were talking about. xD Mostly cause I don't know the people's names on those shows... And "reality" television is most people's guilty pleasure. I, personally, prefer shows on VH1 where the people are so ridiculous, you wonder if [or maybe really hope] they are really acting. xD

I haven't even turned it on yet. I like watching Top Chef, Ghost Hunters, Lost and CSI. Usually, I wind up taping everything I like and watching them in the morning.
The kids are sleeping now and I don't think I'm too far behind them.
Edited because the italics effed up the first time.

I miss cable, too... I used to watch Walker, Texas Ranger a lot on the Hallmark channel when I was living with my grandma. Now though... Nope. >.< No cable. Mom says it's too expensive and that it wouldn't get watched enough, because she and my stepfather are perfectly content with the basic stuff we get now... *sighs*

Cricket: I think my parents would die without cable. The dad watches ESPN and CNN a lot. The mom probably could survive except now we have digital cable that comes with OnDemand. She watches some of her shows on there cause time restraints and stuff...
