@Massage: Meh, it's not really that long of a list...especially if I can stay off Mene long enough to actually get to reading, lol! I can typically get through a 350 page book in a week...so I know I can at least get 50 books read in a year. *nods*
I see in your sig that you're reading Black House. How are you enjoying it? I found that to be a very good story. Forgive my laziness and not checking your booklist, but...did you read the Talisman already? I sorta messed up and read them out of order, but they were still both very good, lol!
Oh, I had another question...does listening to audio books count? I'm kinda feeling like it'd be cheating, but I kinda feel like I would get more done that way. >.> Seeing as how I've already listened to several of the books on the list about 4 times each. Work is boring without something to keep your mind on, hehehe.
@shadowfoot: Congrats on your progress! How many books were you shooting for having read?

Haha. I see. I can usually read about 100 pages a day... if I set aside about two hours a day to read. Some days I'll do nothing but read and read about 1,000 pages if I get really, really into the book... yea. That doesn't happen often and I end up reading about fifty pages if I'm lucky. I used a calculator and I need to read 41-42 pages a day to reach my 15,000 page goal.
When I got Black House I was really happy (my mom surprised me with it since she knew I liked Stephen King) then realized that it had a book before it. Turns out I had it, started it at one point but forgot about it (most likely because of school). So I read The Talisman first. I loved The Talisman. I loved, loved Wolf and oddly Osmond. xD I'm about half-way through Black House and I'm happy with it so far. Oh, and I read The Talisman before the challenge so it's not on my list.
I don't know about audio books. I wouldn't think they count though. I just get a paper feel from this challenge. Sort of a 'make time for paper and eyes'.
But I guess they could. I don't have a problem with them counting. I guess someone else is better for answering that question. haha. Sorry.

Relating to a page back about Cherry's post.
Sabriel is definitely good for you. I love that book. I actually just reread the series.
Yay for having yet another book done. I bought Hunted last night after I had a doctors appointment. I started reading it at 7pm and finished at 10:15pm. Thankfully it didn't have as much guy drama as the other House of Night books. It was still pretty good though. I just wish it had been a bit longer. From what I've read it's either going to be a 7 or 9 book series.

@cherry - mm, uh, nope. i wouldn't recognise anymore. XD
i already saw the orwell and bradbury and austen, plus girl interrupted and the bell jar, tad williams stephen king and that white is for magic or somesuch title (i always forget the exact wording)
annnnddd i won't list the others.
but that's what i would recognise. everything else is something i haven't seen before.
i have a problem with collecting and using pez dispensers.
mostly because pez are almost like nerds for me. pure sugarcrack. 8D
(go look at my picture album on my profile. chococat pez dispenser :3)
@jeice - and it all matches so nicely. +_+
8D vampire hunter d~ i've never read the novels, though. :[
audio books are fine. remember, NO RULES. :]
whatever you want to count as a book, go for it.
ps.
ahmahgawd.
i made dani watch repo! last night.
when it finished she asked to see it again and the soundtrack has been on repeat for the whole morning so far. XD
we were singing along. WHAT HAVE I DONE? x3

Tireth: Ianto objects to being called sport. Science Ninja Team Gatchaman was a real cartoon. O_o
All the books I'm reading at the moment seem to have thrown random Japanese into them. Tosh called Owen 'otaku' because of his Second Life addiction, Charles Stross uses the words 'otaku' and 'kawaii' and the issue of the Uncanny X-Men I just read was set in Japan (cue lots of 'Wolverine-San'). :/
Jeice: Nice list! I used to love R.A. Salvatore. I've read a lot of the Drizzt books, but mostly out of order. I think the only ones I did read in the right way were the Icewind Dale trilogy. I got The Thousand Orcs for Christmas a few years ago and I haven't read it yet. -_-
+ I returned four books to the library and six out (including The Eyre Affair, the recommendations leech I am). My poor books will never get read.

SO I caved and requested the first available copy of Jennifer Government from my library, I should be coming in a couple days. When I'm done with it I'll probley request Company (thats Maxx Barry's third novel's name right?).
I got The Jane Austen Book Club in. I'm sooo excited. I got it in through Paperback swap, now I'm a little addicted to it >.> thanks Cherry.

@Massage: I...I have no clue how many pages I read a day. Never thought to check that, lol! Maybe about 80, or so...because I can get the Vampire Hunter D books done in a day and a half apiece. Hmm...I'd need to read about 77 pages a day to finish every book on my list in the year's time.
Haha! Wolf was an awesome character in The Talisman! Hey, what was it about Osmond that made you like him? Just curious, heh. For some reason, I wasn't too keen on The Talisman, I thought it was very good...but I much preferred Black House. Maybe because it dealt with adults, rather than kids? *shrugs*
And about audio books...I think you're right that this feels like it should only be paper and ink. *nods* That's sorta why I only listed the books I've listened to that I also own the physical copy of too.
@tirethminet: *nodnod* It does match...except for the hairpin, hehehe. Though, I like how the splash of white draws the eyes to the face.
Yay! So, I guess that means you've seen the D movies??? Which one was your favorite, the first or second? I heard they're supposed to make a third. Aaaanyways...the novels are better than the movies in my opinion, because the movies left out so many of the good parts and you don't really get the full story. Also, they are very short reads...>.>...though, they do have the downside of every plot being almost identical, heh. If you ever get the chance you should check them out.
Aaaand...I'm considering using audio books, but I may listen to them twice before I count them, since I'd never be able to read them myself as quickly as I can get them listened to. Then I wouldn't feel quite like I was cheating, heh.
@KatMagenta: Thankies much! And R. A. Salvatore is one of my absolute favorite writers at the moment...especially the Drizzt books. *nodnod* If you ever get the chance, it's worth it to read the Drizzt books in order...things ake a bit more sense that way, lol!

@Jeice Barton: I think it's Osmonds' crazy-ness. He was just so interesting.
I liked the imagination that seems to flow through The Talisman. Black House is good though. Since I haven't finished Black House I can't really decided which I think is better.

kawaii is one of the words i loathe in anything except a japanese accent. :/
.... snort. wolverine-san? xp
@jeice - i have the... first movie? i never managed to get past that, possibly because i always forget movies i want to see and things like that.
i will totally try to remember to check the books out. especially since you have tempted me with the "short read" aspect. 8D
audio books... that is fair. :]
i would have done that with mine, but listening to the twilight series is already so long. plus i did NOT want to listen to jacob's parts of the book more than i had to. his voiceactor/narrator had a ridiculously annoying voice.
and then coraline... well... i kept falling asleep while listening to it, so i must've listened to a lot of parts multiple times. (gaiman's voice has some sort of power over me 8D~
@feyona - NOOOO NO CRYING. :[

@shadow - heh. you should count each assignment as reading one book. XD
@bishie - your ap history book does too count! as long as you think it counts, it counts.

Tireth: Stross described a pink and blue pony/unicorn/centaur girl with huge round eyes as kawaii and anime style so at least it made some sense. When he used otaku I'm not even sure he knew what it meant.
I don't think this is that spoiler-ish but Owen is playing a warrior type bloke, except he based himself on the female avatar without noticing so there's a lot of jokes about him having breasts. Tosh invents a 3D virtual reality helmet as well as projectors in the hub so he can play for real but even though she says not to go online with it he does. Silly boy. Ianto also appears as a giraffe man for reason I can ascertain other than the author was tripping.
Wolverine can speak Japanese so a lot of the text is <like this> to imply people are speaking Japanese. He's about to tell the girl his actual name but then they get attacked by 'mandroids' and I spend far too long laughing at the word mandroid.
