Oh god, that's absolutely terrible! I can't believe that those girls would do that to that poor man... Times are hard all around the world now, and people that do without should be helped, not hurt.
Living in Michigan near the Detroit area, I see more and more homeless people every single day. It's not just in the city either - you see them in the suburbs as well. Sometimes you'll see couples along the side of the road living in a tent with only what they could carry with them. It's so sad, and the worst part about it is that it could happen to anyone around here! My dad actually works in the auto industry, and I'm scared that he'll lose his job every single day...
I wish that this world would do more to help out the less fortunate. It's so sad that people are more concerned about the idea of money than the whole of humanity. Money is a human creation that, in the end, doesn't matter as much as keeping others healthy and safe.

I can't stand people who think they're superior to anyone, especially based on status or race. I mean, if those kids didn't have their parents, they would probably be on the streets too. At any given moment, your life can change and you can lose everything you have. What I'm trying to say is, anyone can be in that position easily. I think those kids need some discipline and a reality check. Life is hard enough without people like that making it worse.

Not surprising to me. These days it seems like very few people are really able to care about anything outside of themselves. Add pride to the mix, and things like this is what you get.
It's just yet another messed up thing about the "it's good to be bad" trend. Charity is a VIRTUE... so if everyone makes up their minds that having virtues is worse than having AIDS, then yeah... this is where society will go. It may be fun (in some people's minds) to tell their parents off and "be bad" just to gall them, but... in reality, the way we decide to behave effects not only ourselves and our whole lives, but also everyone around us.
If people didn't embrace and propagate this poisonous mindset as a whole society and as a rule, maybe those people would've helped that person instead of abusing them. But just remember, this kind of thing is what "being bad" ultimately means in reality. It's not just the color of your shirt. It's the "color" of your behavior, of your character, and of your whole life. Virtues are those good habits which direct our actions toward positive, right, just and healthy goals, and which ultimately effect society (when practiced by the majority) in a positive way. It doesn't mean you're a brain-dead idiot coward or something. On the contrary, it means you have a lot more REAL pride (caring about yourself to the extent you actually care what your character is like), and a lot more guts and power over one's own behavior than "being bad" does.
If only people would just wake up and get over this "being bad" bull$#^*, maybe we could actually start making the world a better place for real.

Every time I see or hear about someone getting bullied, I'm chocked about it...
I really wonder how people can be like that. A lot of my friends have been bullied in public school, and I can't see the reason why some need to do it to people : x

Now now, in my country, the children you see on the streets aren't homeless, they do have a "house" in shantytowns, but they beg to pay their mothers and their "guardians", women of other ethnicity watching over them. And hell do they get well-paid! Most get at least $20 daily, which is enough for 22 decent meals 8D;;
Now, going back to the issue of "inhumane" people [I actually think the word should have the total opposite in meaning x_x] I think these guys most likely come from awful, uncaring families. Otherwise, they wouldn't act as if that were a normal everyday thing. They need some mental help, seriously >__>

Or perhaps a good night's sleep... it can do wonders!
Between me and my five roommates, I think we pay about $20 a week on groceries each. But that's for a ton of stuff. For small, low effort meals, that bumps up the price. We tend to buy things in bulk. >>

Well, a lot of teenagers are complete idiots.
I would imagine that's how most of the people at my school would treat someone like the man you described.
Actually, that's how a lot of them treat a few people in our school. It's really aggravating. A lot of the time I feel like asking them what gives them the right to judge the rest of the world like they do, and what makes them believe they're so above everyone else.
Hopefully when people like that grow up, they'll start to realize how the world really works and that they aren't going to get anywhere with rude attitudes like that.

You know he could be an extreamly clever hobo that asked them to come and berate him so that people would look and give him some money to prove they aren't like thoes kids. Some hobos are wicked sharp. Never underestimate them.
