The fist Batman (which is actually from the 80's) was probably the first movie of his that I ever saw. I was about 2 years old. Batman Returns is my favorite of all Batman movies.

I'd have to say Pee-Wee's Big Adventure is his best. I love the guy's work, and that one just sticks out to me. That, Beetlejuice, and Edward Scissorhands are probably his masterpieces.

Yes I have. And I have explained why I loved it, because it's a musical. Honestly, it wouldn't be top of my list if it didn't.

Big Fish is my choice! It was different from his other works yet totally creative and heart warming! I love the characters, twists and how much power was given to imagination.

Mars Attacks is my 2nd favorite. Oh yeaaaaaah!

I thought I really dislike Tim Burton films, but I really liked Beetlejuice with a passion. So I would have to say my one and only favorite Tim Burton Film is Beetlejuice. It was just so awesome. :D The other Tim Burton films were just sickening. I mean come on... they were sick. I so disliked Their version of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory (It's called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

Also, I would hate to see his version of Alice in Wonderland. That would even be more sickening than his other films. >_<; Tim Burton, you're one sick man... Beetlejuice is the only film that I liked from you. :P

I saw Alice in Wonderland before when I was really young. His style excited me, I just loved the way everything looked. Although the boogie man scene often made me cry and freaked me out. I mean, his body after all the bugs come out is extremely creepy. And it's Santy Claus! It made me so sad, and yet, I loved it! My favorite, just because of this, really.

Edward Scissorhands was brilliant. And saddening. :c All of his movies make me cry at some point.

Has anyone else noticed Johnny Depp is a key component in each of his movies? Heck, the guy in The Corpse Bride even looked like him!

Oh and you forgot one. Coraline.

My favorite would definitely have to be James and the Giant Peach. Tim Burton produced that, I didn't know until I was 12. I grew up with that film. I stumbled on someone's library and I found the original children's book. All the songs and important poems were word for word. The only big differences I saw was that the man who gave James the bag was a leprechaun-esque guy in the book and Miss Spider was more old-fashioned motherly and less gothic and french. Not to mention, Jack Skellington makes an appearance in this movie! Overall I felt like it was one of the best book adaptations I've seen.

To all those planning on seeing Alice in Wonderland, are any of you planning on dressing up with friends on this day? On another note, have any of you read the original version or any of the "Through the Looking Glass" books or have seen any movie adaptation other than the Disney animation?

My favorite Tim Burton movies are Sleepy Hollow and Big Fish. :D

I'm not very excited about the Alice movie coming out, and I am a BIG Alice fan. I feel like it's too... Fad-y. It seems like he's riding off the coattails of the Mad Hatter's popularity and it doesn't seem very true to the nature of Lewis Carroll's stories at all. And yes, I HAVE read them. ;)
Edit: This is just based on what I've seen in the trailers, of course. The graphics look BEAUTIFUL and I'm still going to see the movie anyway, I just don't have very high hopes for it. It IS Burton though, so maybe it won't disappoint me much at all. Who knows.

Mine is between beetlejuice and James and the Giant Peach.
Beetlejuice because I love seeing the underworld as a busniess and everyone in the waiting room. And I love the connection between Lydia and the dead couple (I can't remember their names right now lol).

And I love the childishness in James.

The rest are okay, but lately his ovies has just seem to get worse. Like Corpse Bride gets boring halfway through, and Chalie and the Chocolate factory is just dull to me. The only characters I like are Veruca Salt and Violet. And Sweeney Todd is only good for the songs. I don;t know. His characters seem to be lacking in a fully developed personality and like, "here's this guy, he feels ______ because _______ so he does something dark to fix it."

Tim Burton films to me are like music, I'm in love with almost everything he does and I can't wait to see Alice In Wonderland. The first Tim Burton film I saw was The Nightmare Before Christmas, and it was young in my childhood. I was so amazed by the effects and the definition of the characters that it instantly became a favorite movie of mine. There are five movies in which I can say fer sure I will always love, and those are (in order) The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Crow, The Boondock Saints, Repo! The Genetic Opera and Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I find his work sarcastically dark, like it plays fun at the average perspective of what gothic or depressing or evil is, and this is seen in such movies as The Corspe Bride and Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice especially, where [for the case of Corpse Bride and Beetlejuice] the underworld, or life after death, is much more lively than life for the realm of the living. And what someone would see as gothic and evil would be a character with looks as Edward, because of his hands and clothing and skin, but the nature of his character is really quite apprehensive and apologetic and sincere.

Also notice how Johnny Depp is in a lot of his films. I am very surprised that he didn't have a role in TNBC, because a lot of Burton's major films have his as a star.

I ADORE Burton... BEFORE the year 2000. Y2K just messed him up. He no longer creates his own material. I think he's fallen victim to his money and notoriety as the "creepy remake guy". And it's really very sad. All his movies before 2000 were fantastic. Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands are two of my favorite movies of all time. PeeWee's Big Adventure is hilarious and brilliant, as is Beetlejuice. Lately, though, I've been immensely disappointed in him, and maybe even a bit annoyed. It hurts me to say this, but it's what I think.

Okay really I love the entire collected works of Tim Burton...but I really think he needs to stop letting Disney be a producer of his films. For I believe that his films are constrained in his genius due to this partnership. I mean it's not like he doesn't have the money to do it on his own...ergo he should. Just saying. Nightmare Before Christmas...all time favorite.

My favorite would have to be The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's the only movie of his (or anyone's, actually), that I've seen many times and have yet to get bored of.

Sweeney Todd is one my all time favorite movies. ♥

Edward Scissorhands was an amazing movie but I can't get myself to watch it over and over again because it makes me upset. D:

I grew up watching The Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice. I love them too, but they're not my favorites.

I saw Alice in Wonderland on Saturday and it was more than I was expecting. You never know what to expect from Tim Burton but I was getting irritated with all the people obsessing over it when it hadn't even been released yet!

~That's a very hard questions to answer. I practically love every movie he ever created from Beetlejuice to the Batman sagas to Sweeney Todd and now Alice in Wonderland which I especially love right now ^_^. I love it how he has an interesting look to things and I like it that even though it's dark there is some light to it.

and Coraline! Jeez, that was just a phenomenal movie. I cant believe the complexity of something with button eyes, but I am seriously obsessed. Almost better than Doritos. Almost. ^-^
