She didn't know what to say. Here was one of a few people that was actually being nice to her that she wasn't related to. She couldn't think of anything to do, anything to say, even though she knew saying 'thank you' was required here. Or maybe turning him down and going back to her box that she'd picked out that morning.

Instead, she just cries. It wasn't the nasty way of crying, where all the fluids come draining out, but just a simple cry where tears fell down her cheeks.

When she thought she could speak again, and stop hiding her face in her tail, which she still gripped painfully in her hands, she looked at him, her blue eyes clouded with emotion, but no longer completely fearful. "I'm Miranda."

Maria took the apron first and tied it around her long blue fliry dress as she took the notepad and the pen into her hands."thank you"Maria said as she would love to get to know the employees better. who should i talk to first i would like to get to know them better

Maria began to approuch Miranda and smiled then bowed in politeness as she heard the young fox girl's name was miranda Maria thought she would introduce herself to Miranda first"hi Miranda my name is Maria Sorry for interupting the two of you"Maria said a bit embarrassed as she kept in the posistion of bowing

Jade blinked and only stared at her. She was crying. He had made her cry. His bottom lip trembled and he had to bite it hard to stop himself from crying. Gods..he had made her cry. Jade inhaled deeply and quickly calmed himself. "H-hello.." It took effort but he managed to keep that hitch out of his voice. The one that would betray that he was about to cry as well. "Welcome to Jumping Jack's." He nodded slightly. "The job is yours, if you want it. Please..Please excuse me...I seem to require the restroom for a moment." Jade inhaled deeply and slowly stood glancing to Maria and then glancing at Carina. He cleared his throat slightly. "C-Carina..you'll be in charge until I've come back for my..uh..ah...break?"

Jade didn't wait for a response. Already he was rushing towards the back where the restrooms were and already an arm was up over his eyes. Poor sensitive boy that he was. His chest felt tight and heavy and needed to let that tension out. Even before he had reached the restroom door tears were spilling from his eyes. In a rush he pushed that door open and made sure to lock it behind him..though he was sure none of the girls would follow him..assuming he hadn't managed to slip into the wrong bathroom. He was at one of the sinks immediately, his hands on either side and his head leaning over it as those tears flowed. Silent tears. Unstoppable and uncontrollable. Tears of pure emotion. Pure hurt. Pure sympathy. Pure compassion.

Carina watched with sympathetic eyes as Jade rushed to the back rooms I know her situation is tough but I really didn't expect that strong of a reaction out of him turning back around she saw the Maria was talking to that girl, Miranda and that she was......bowing? Carina raised an eyebrow at that as she didn't think you were supposed to stay that way for so long. Smiling she got up,grabbing a couple of napkins,and moved toward them sitting in the seat Jade abandoned. "And my name is Carina." she introduced herself handing Miranda the napkins so that she could dry her tears "I look forward to working with you both."

Maria raised her head back up as she was smiling though she hoped none of the other employees would notice her hair was falling out.

Her hair fell out in chunks more than in just little strands since she had Leukemia.Maria was afraid if they found out she would be fired as fast as possible to get her back into that aweful hospital."i hope to get to know all of you better"Maria said smiling

Kris nearly kicked open the door, he was incredibly late for work, and on the opening day too!! He pulled his long red hair back behind his head in a tight pony tail, holding his chef's uniform in his teeth while he did that "Ahh excuse me ladies?" he looked at the three girls in the room "But have you seen a hyper guy? he owns the place..." he had a slight Scottish accent

Seeing the owner, whose name she'd forgotten, run off in tears made her wonder if he was serious and she had the job. But given how nice he was, she didn't want to think that he could be mean by setting her up like that. Still, seeing that she'd made him cry, made the tears fall all over again. Not that her numb tail could handle more water soaking the already matted fur. She had the most pathetic looking face when she turned to look at the girl speaking to her. Her blue eyes were bloodshot and dry looking, despite the water that flowed from them. She wore a frown, but it was due to the crying, not because she was displeased at the girl.

"I made him cry... I didn't mean to..." She accepted the napkins, making note of their names, even though she still thinks that she could be fired at any moment.

"ooh boy... well its not hard to make the kid cry. Did you see which way he went? actually... no. Never mind. I need to get to work, are any of you girls hungry? I'll make you anything you want, on me today!" he grinned sheepishly "To make up for being an hour late"

"im not usually hungry much anymore"Maria said with a laugh as it were a true fact that she doesn't eat much anymore due to her illness she wishes she could eat normally but she looses her appetite a lot more often than normal people do she also wished her hair would stop falling out so much too im already acting suspecious enough i keep saying weird things like that to people that their going to seem like hints that i have Luekemia

"ooooh im sure once im done cooking for you, you'll always be hungry for my food" he hummed to himself while he thought for a second "Do you like beef fajitas...wiiith red and yellow peppers.... ooo and sour cream....and ill whip up some guacamole too!" he was getting way to excited about the food

The man that came in was.....Carina really didn't know how to describe him "Um...do you think you could make me one of those Roma Tomato and Mozzarella sandwiches? I'm starved by the way me name is Carina. Just got hired today." then she turned back to Miranda "Don't worry I don't think it's your fault either.Now why don't we go to the bathrooms and get you cleaned up? It might make you feel better. or would you like something to eat instead?" Standing she waited for her to reply. Hearing Maria she turned to her and looked her up and down "Are you sure you don't want anything? You look like you could use something right about now." a frown marred her face as she took in Maria's too thin frame.

"one roma tomato and mozzerela coming right up! My name is Kristopher, call me Kris" he took off his jacket and put on his uniform, it was pristine white.

Maria looked at the boy who was naming food."im sure i wont be hungry..sorry"Maria said with a slight frown"im sure i usually end up loosing my appetite a lot so im use to my thin body"Maria Said to Carina with a bit of a laugh trying to make things not to awkward

Miranda, sniffing back her tears, catches a scent she'd smelled before. "Maria, right? Do you have cancer or something? Your smell is off a little..." She didn't mean to call it out like that, with her voice soft and her soggy tail still held up, even though the sight of it embarrassed her. "I'm sorry, don't answer me. Just ignore me. I didn't say anything..." She makes no move to actually answer the self proclaimed chef. She really didn't want to bother him with making an order that he probably didn't want to make anyway. "It's okay for us to leave the floor? Though, I know I'm a mess. You don't have to worry, I'll hide myself. I don't want to scare anyone away..." She was looking at the floor below Carina's feet, not able to bring herself to look up at the girl.

Maria became a bit nervous as she Heard Miranda ask if she had cancer i can't say i do...im too scared to tell everyone that. Maria laughed nervously "ahaha..n-n-no"Maria said as she even looked more suspecious when she laughed nervously and studdered a bit

"Thanks alot Kris." The statement Miranda said about Maria having cancer made Carina's head spin alittle and Maria's actions made her suspicious. Cancer? What is she doing here if she has cancer? she was about to start questioning her but one look toward Maria told her everything She's scared and who wouldn't be. I'll just have to keep an eye on her. Stealing one last look toward her she answered Miranda's question "I'm sure it'll be alright for alittle while and besides I'm sure everyone want's to see your pretty face unmarred by tears." Seeing her looking down Carina moved so that she was kneeling infront of her so that she,Carina, had to look up at Mirandas face. "Please don't say stuff like that anymore. You're perfect just the way you are. No matter what anyone else says." and with that she gave her a beaming smile. I'll try and talk to Maria alone later

Slowly that bathroom door opened, after Jade had stared himself down in the mirror for a few minutes. Making sure everything was in order and no one could tell he had been crying. A smile plastered on his lips as he made his way back towards the main area. Combing a hand through his hair as he grinned at the girls, his grin widening as he realized Kris was there. No doubt though, Kris would know. Kris always knew when he was crying anyway. He inhaled deeply, still grinning at them. "Sorry about that. Anyway..where was I? Oh. Right."

Jade turned and dashed behind the counter, moving to the kitchen and grabbing an apron he came back and slowly approached the girls. Holding the apron out gingerly to Miranda. "You'll need the proper attire, since I've hired you. Here." He glanced towards Kris, his gaze quickly dropping to Miranda. "I like your ears and your tail. I think they add to your cuteness." He looked at Carina and smiled. "Why don't you let Carina take you to the rest room and help you clean your face up a bit..That way everyone can see how cute you look."

Maria smiled at Jade as he seemed so nice to everyone. he's such a gentle and kind person to everyone Maria thought as she hoped her hair doesn't fall out in chunks while she was at the cafe or when any of the customers begin to show up i hope those doctors don't come to this cafe if they do i'll just be stuck in that hospital forever

"Can I wash my tail too? It's kinda soggy..." She doesn't drop her tail for a different reason now. She didn't want to drip on the floor. She wasn't holding it as tightly now, and feeling was returning, painfully so, to the tip where the white fur was. She does accept the apron with her left hand, and drapes it over her shoulder. She stands there, waiting for Carina to lead the way to the bathroom, not knowing where it was. "I'm sorry I made such a bad first impression... I haven't been treated well since leaving home. Everyone seems to think I make a better slave than worker..." Her voice, as it has been, was soft, and her eyes were downcast, though not completely on the floor now. She was looking at another chair across the room, watching the light move across it's surface.

Jade nodded. "Of course." His smile seemed to brighten a bit when Miranda took the apron. Reaching out Jade gently pat her on the top of the head, almost the way one would a small child. "It's alright. No one will treat you badly here. I'll make sure of that." He stepped back a bit so as to not be in the way when the girls did decide to move towards the bathroom.

For a while he stood there smiling at them, then he glanced towards the front door...still no customers..but for the moment he was glad of that. Hopefully none would come in until Miranda was feeling better. He really didn't want anything to happen that might cause her to stress out. The poor girl seemed to have already been through a whole lot. Jade looked to Maria and smiled. "I'm sorry..I haven't properly introduced myself to you. I'm Jade Delacroix."

"im Maria Scarlet"Maria said as she put her hand out for a handshake.Her hands were very pale as her skin was quite pale but not too pale as she was glad she was wearing her long blue fliry dress so that her bones on her body were unoticable though her figure was quite small as it seemed she didn't eat much.

Jade reached out and took her hand. Holding it gently and giving it a very light shake. She was so pale..almost sickly...Well...as long as it wasn't contagious to his customers and as long as she honestly wanted this job, he wouldn't fire her. He released her hand and stared at her for a moment, as if studying her features. "Are you alright? You seem very pale...you aren't sick are you?" He frowned for a moment and then smiled. "It'll be alright..as long as you aren't contagious..but I think maybe you just need a little bit more sun." He nodded slightly, as if agreeing with himself. She seemed so tiny as well..underfed? No..more of a sick type of tiny. He smiled at her. Well..everyone had secrets and he wouldn't pry unless his customers...when he did get any...complained of being sick themselves. "I hope you'll enjoy working here."

"no im not sick im usually quite pale because i've usually not been allowed outside they were afraid i would get kidnapped or something"Maria said with a nervous laugh as that was for a cover as she didn't want anyone to know she lives in a hospital as after work she had to look for a place to crash for the night."i think this cafe will be fun im glad to be working here"Maria said with a smile

"Ah. I understand...my mother was like that. It took a lot of convincing to get her to let me go as far as the mailbox." He smiled a bit and turned from Maria. Moving through the cafe and going back behind the counter. He wiped at a few invisible dust specks and looked back towards that door hopefully, then he turned his smiling face to the girls again. "Well...I guess it seems like today is a really slow day. That's alright though. I'm sure we'll get customers like crazy soon. So many people will come in we won't be able to keep the orders straight." His smile had gotten a bit brighter, a little wider. "Wouldn't that be so exciting?" He was bouncing.

Maria smiled at him as she listened to Jade talk she didn't like lying to them though she felt that was the only choice she had as she was scared what everyone's reaction would be and how they would treat her she didn't want them to treat her like she was ill because that made her even more scared if her death was approuching or not
