I persnally liked Joey McIntyre's two "comeback" songs in the late 90's over Jordan Knight's "Stay the Same" is a song about self esteem, and "I love you came too late" is a little emo in retrospect but it is a quaint anecdote. There are just so many songs out there that are just about sex and nothing else that it didn't impress me nearly as much.
I haven't thought of those songs in approximately a decade. Huzzah for my selectively photographic memory, I suppose.
[EDIT] Video Fun Time!
Good God... I mean neither of these songs were my favourties, as I've always been a fan of Metal/Grunge/Alternative/Rock/Industrial, but when I watched the video for "Stay the Same" my eyes started to well up in tears. Less than a month ago I cut my wrist so bad I had to have 13 industrial strength staples put in my arm in the ER with no local anesthesia. I am diagnosed with major depressive disorder and I harm myself semi frequently (I am attempting to manage with meds and what limited therapy I can get). That song though... if I could only have someone sing it to me right in person as I was about to put my head next to cars going 80mph, burning searing metal into my flesh for a third degree burn, cutting my arm all over the place... I don't know -shudder-
YAY NEW STUFFIES FOR ME TO LOOK AT! Thank you so much <3 Unfortunately for me it's gonna have to wait till the morning since I should be going to bed now.
See I want people to keep contributing like this <3
So it turns out that my next door neighbors are moving in one week. They had a garage sale and were selling CD's for $1.00 each. I ended up snagging a TON of good 90s stuff <3
- Christina Aguilera
- Shania Twain
- 90s variety CD
- Classical Music
- Whitney Houston
- and a ton of other good stuff.
Seriously, it's time to bring back 90s style!
That being said, I was watching Mulan last night, so let's share this:
I just noticed something about the NKOTBSB tour... there should be 10 of them but I see only 9. Is Kevin from The Backstreet Boys the only one not involved? And why? I remember the girls in middle school sneering at Kevin calling him an "old man" because he was "27 and close to 30" or something along those lines.
Kevin quit in 2006 to pursue an acting career and start his family. There's always gonna be an open door for him to come back to the group, but at least he came back recently for the Oprah show special last week. He also was a part of the encore act for the Unbreakable Tour in 2008 when it was in Hollywood.
So I'm up trying to write RP responses because I haven't written in about a week or so, maybe even longer...and I'm watching the Disney Channel.
Remember Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century? And the fact that the movie series features a boy band called Microbe, with a guy named Proto Zoa as the heartthrob leader?
Yeah, it's up on Disney Channel right now. I was looking at the other guys in the band and I'm totally missing late 90s fashion. Back then things were fun and funky. What happened to fashion now?
Anyway, anyone remember the songs, "Supernova Girl" and "The Galaxy Is Ours"?
I'm so glad I found this thread; now I have a place to express my recent rediscovery of my love for *Nsync. XD I was probably a bit too young to be into boy bands and stuff, but I fell in love with Nsync when Disney Channel aired one of their concerts (because I was a Disney Channel nut back then).
My cousin was into Backstreet Boys, so I had plenty of opportunities to argue about which one was better. That kept us entertained for more than one summer vacation. :D
What bit too young? I've been loving boy bands since I was 6 or 7! How old were you back in the day?
And I still watch Disney Channel. Ain't no shame!
Oh yeah, since it IS the holiday season, I forgot to mention that someone in my theatre class was playing the NSync Christmas Album while we were working on stuff. And then I started singing along to it in my head.
"It's Gonna Be Me" started playing on my iTunes just as I started I replying. Awesome timing, iTunes! :D
I was probably 5 or 6 when I went into a Nsync fever. My mom tolerated it because she thought it was better than some things I could be listening to. Now that Disney Channel is a little less Hannah Montana inclined, I'm more willing to watch Disney Channel now. XD
"Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" started playing when I was working last week and my co-worker and I started singing along. It was fun! :D
Edit: Thought about it some I may be wrong about age. 7 seems more right now that I think about it, so I guess I wasn't too young after all. XD

Oh god... I was such a BSB fangirl, I saw them in concert in '98. We got 2nd row center, as mom was flirting with the ticket master before the phone lines were even supposed to be open... XD
Yay another BSB fan! Hey, you're lucky your mom took you to the concert back then. Me? I had to wait seventeen YEARS before I could see them in person!
