I know every time I've posted a group rp on here it's always been somewhat difficult to get people to join, I think mainly because of the length of them. There was a haunted house one I did that I might have went a little extreme on. :sweat: Yeah fans are nice noise makers too. Having both on at night definitely helps me sleep even more then just one or the other, plus the fan keeps me cooled down at night. XD I've never tried a white noise maker though, so I might have to see how well that works. :D When it comes to anime I've actually very similar. I always read the little bio that netflix gives them and usually figure that I won't like a certain anime, but I usually end up wrong. Soul Eater had been one of them, but after watching the full first episode I found I couldn't stop watching it. XD Even the art that they used for the sun and moon really started to grow on me to the point where I wished ours could do the same. XD It's now definitely one of my favorite anime's too. Once I find a Borders that isn't closing I'll try to hunt for the manga too. I heard that the stories were somewhat different from each other, so I want to see how much. :D I will say though I'm glad I watched the anime first for sure if that really is the case. :D

I know right? I yell at my brain for doing that all the time. And I know how that is quite well. And then of course later I'll remember the idea and again curse my brain for again not thinking of it while I was posting. XD It's funny how our minds work like that, and frustrating at the same time. ><' Lol I agree that it usually ends up happening at the same time. When you have a really good idea you can't help but make the post rather long, especially if you know the details you want to really put into it. Lol I've done that too. I had characters that were siblings and suddenly this scene started playing out into my head then one thing led to another...and yeah...:sweat: That always seems to how it turns out. Then you try and tell people to wait up, but they then get upset and a fight breaks out. Then it always ends with either you leaving the roleplay or them leaving the roleplay to create a private one without you, so then you're miserable either way. Or you try to bring your character in anyways, but no matter what you do it just doesn't seem to fit and it just becomes one big mess. The really sad thing about that, is I really do like group roleplays as well as one on one roleplays. I do find though that I typically do more one on ones lately then group rps since they're just so much easier to manage. XD And I agree. I enjoy reading people's long posts, though I do feel that sometimes the feeling isn't always mutual. :sweat: And I can understand too not wanting to read paragraphs about details that can be covered in a couple of sentences. But it is true if people don't want to read something you've worked hard on then they don't have to rp with you, as saddening as that is. :sweat: Yeah I've also been watching a few roleplays that seem to have those kind of sentences quite frequently, just to see how people respond to them. The sad thing is I find that those kind of things are starting to become more and more frequent. I know there's one roleplay in particular that every time I see it on the front page I wonder how in the world it's still going. The entire rp is almost pure one liners. I just can't understand how or why anyone would continue with that. I mean if they were doing something like that to try and improve and that improvement could be seen I could understand, but continuing without any sort of improvement over a long period of time just makes me shudder. Not of course that I would mind roleplaying with people who do one liners, as I sort of take it as them trying to improve their skills and so I want to try and help them as much as possible. Unfortunately I've discovered that, that isn't always the case either, as in the example I had given. It's safe to say that after that I had to end the roleplay, since that was all I had really been getting from the beginning and I was running out of ideas. :sweat: And yeah when I get writer's block I try to at the very least give a paragraph by minimum though I do try to stretch it out into a couple if I can. Granted it may not be very good, but I at least try to give them something to work with. :sweat: If we didn't have smilies we would probably be on the dark side of the moon. :XD I just seem to pop them in after most of my sentences out of habit. :D :XD

I thought I was forgetting something in my reply to you. Soran is a sword weapon that changes into various different kinds of swords depending on the situation. So he's similar to Tsubaki, except instead of different kinds of ninja weapons it's just different types of swords, though for now it's just three he can turn into. A long katana, a medium length sword that I haven't decided on yet, and a short dagger-like sword. XD

TheDesireMistress - Lol no worries I can avoid the pinging. I was mainly doing it to try and make it clear which person I was talking to, but this works just as easily too. :D And feel free to shoot some at me if you have other ideas from the ones I have on the first page, I'm more than willing to do things not listed on there. :D

Aawww, I love Fox and the Hound! Land Before Time?! AAAAAH I WATCHED THAT ALL THE TIME WHEN I WAS LITTLE! I’m sorry…totally just had a moment XD I still love it! I never used to be that way, but I get wary of people telling me they won’t give me one liners and such and the most they give me is two lines. Agh…I feel embarrassed to have gotten to the point of actually asking for samples. I always hate it when people refuse to roleplay with you if you don’t have samples >.< Of course lately, I feel I’ve kind of been lucky with my roleplay partners : P Ah, I know – I understand if they’re looking for a mentor, but…if they get snarky and don’t accept my help then what do you do?! Lol no worries I know the feeling, I use to watch them all the time when I was little too. I almost did have a marathon of movies I use to watch as a kid. Now I'm watching Soul Eater...again. I'm currently on episode three. I love Death the Kid and his obsession with symmetry. XD Nice I use to play the clarinet when I was in elementary school so I do feel both a connection and admiration of other woodwind players. My band teacher wasn't too good or nice so it ended with me dropping out of band and learning on my own. :sweat: Lol I can imagine, I was rather excited when you told me the site and was sad that it appears to be down. :( Yes it would be nice if it would happen all year round, but sadly my mind won't work like that. >< Groups can be fun, but can be overwhelming depending on how many people join. Yep I'd have to agree. The brain is an amazing tool, but at the same time an extremely frustrating one. :sweat: And yeah I always feel bad forcing my rp partner to read my really long posts, especially if they don't like reading long ones. I never really want to intimidate my partner, though I found sometimes length can do that to some people. :sweat: Yep and then there's times where I figure I'll just write my idea down later, because I don't have time or the ability to at the time, and then when it's later I can't seem to remember everything I had come up with. It always depresses me when that happens. >< Yeah ten people in a group rp can be a bit much, but it can be fun if it's with just the right people. I find the most difficult thing though is keeping everyone together and ensuring everyone has something to reply to. And then of course if one person leaves it becomes difficult to try and get everyone to slow down. Usually when that happens I won't put a complete stop to the roleplay, but I will try to ensure there aren't mountains upon mountains of pages for the person to read when they come back. If possibly I try to make it to where if they do have to do reading they only have about a half a page, if even that. Of course it doesn't always work. :sweat: I agree with one on ones and doubling. I'm not too fond of it myself, but I'll do it if need be. Typically though if I do any sort of doubling I try to make it temporary with side characters. Psycho Alice: Well let's see what we can pull out. There's always the plot of the demon coming to collect the soul to become more powerful, however for whatever reason find they are unable to. The ghost could have a rather strong hatred for evil and despises the demon at first. The demon then tries to gain the ghost's acceptance.

A demon could be coming to retrieve a ghost that was deemed evil, however it was actually a pure an innocent one. When the demon goes near the ghost they can't help but soften up and so declares that they will do whatever it takes to defend and protect the ghost. However once the mistake of labeling the ghost as evil instead of good they find that both Heaven and Hell will do anything to gain the soul of the ghost. Romance between the ghost and demon could develop and as a twist to that it could be considered taboo or something.

That's the two I currently have at the moment, though I'm sure I can come up with more or different ones. Feel free to throw out ideas too. :D

I like both ideas a lot actually, they are so different from anything I've done before. I've never done the whole spirits, demons, ghosts, heaven and hell sort of thing and I really can't wait to get started. Did you throw out those plots because you've done them before? Or did you just come up with them I wouldn't mind using either one. I like the second one more than the first, I wonder though why would the ghost be considered evil? Was it because when she died it was under circumstances that could be considered evil?

So both heaven and hell want the ghost but why? Is she a powerful spirit? Or is it because one deems her evil and the other deems her good so they both want her? Is it a power struggle sort of thing?

Yup I agree, it can be quite annoying XD I know, I always feel self-conscious and sometimes even delete some of what I write to make it a bit smaller if I realize my rp partner isn’t a fan of novel sized posts. Yeah, sometimes length can. I actually remember when I was like that…I remember going into a roleplay chat room and wrote something like “She walked in and gave everyone marshmellows” and they kicked me out D: I was 11 years old. They wanted at least one paragraph and I thought that was a killer amount to write! Now..one paragraph is absolutely nothing. I mean you learn from roleplaying with people that intimidate you! Haha, I will say I’m going to write an idea down and then procrastinate and not write it down thinking I’m going to remember it. Then what happens? I forget it when the time comes, ;P Yeah, It depresses me too; you’re not alone! Yeah, I agree with that! It can be quite a bit of fun – I’ve just had so many bad experiences that it…you know XD Oh yeah, you have to read all the posts and make sure you can make a post good enough for them to reply and interact with your character and such. Ah and people leaving can be a pain, even though it’s not their fault! That’s actually a nice thing to do – just make the posting a bit slow paced. I hate reading mountains of posts when I get home from somewhere XD I mean if it’s in a group roleplay. That’s when I kind of just drop out because it’s so much! What would be very wise is to make a bit of a summary of what has been going on – reserve a post on the first page just for anyone who just joined the rp or hasn’t been on. Yeah, I prefer side characters if anything. I love creating more characters, but I like playing one main character for myself than playing multiple main characters. Aaah, it’s so hard to feel motivated enough to type anything when your rp partner says “no posts above three or two”. I mean, wtf? Woot! Roleplay buddies~<3 Hahahaa, well, I have no idea how to answer you why it’s lasted so long…because it confuses me just as much XD It seems that it’s harder to find rp partners on here, but when you do I’ve had very good experiences! Hahahahaha.. Gaia has gone down hill. Check out this plot someone tried to feel me for a Soul x Maka pairing…haha. I had to read it about three times before I knew what she was saying XD

“Maka and Soul has been acting strange recently. Not in a "Strange" kind of way.
But a "STRANGE, STRANGE! WAY!" Soul has been acting strange.
While Maka herself has been doing the same thing. She seem to have like Soul more.
But Maka had kept on trying to advoid him. Being as Soul was he conforted her.
Things got complicated so much that Soul tripped making himself tackling her to the ground.
Maka soon said "S - Sorry...!!" and ran off. Soul feeling all upset by it wanted her to be happy.
He wanted to know what was wrong with her. But how can he do it? and what would he do if he finds out?”

K..sorry, but I just…couldn’t take it XD She had really long samples that were pretty much like this. Had to let that out >< But yeah…I hate having post minimums either…it just sucks. Psycho Alice: Lol so many questions. :XD Those two ideas just happened to be the first two that popped randomly into my head. I've done plots dealing with demons as well as ones dealing with Heaven and Hell, but it would be rare for me to do the same plots as before, so I've not done either one of those two exact plots. As to why the ghost was labeled initially as evil I can't say I have an exact answer to that. It's something that could be answered now, or it could be something that's discovered in the rp itself.

Again this is where the plot can be open to any of those possibilities and can either be solved inside or outside the rp itself. As they go the ghost and demon could learn the intentions of both sides, or again it can be established rather early on.

I haven't had a full blown Disney marathon in ages, I might have to have one here soon. XD Yeah after I got done watching my last movie I couldn't resist the urge to watch Soul Eater again, so here I am again watching it. XD And I'd have to agree, Soul and Black Star are rather entertaining together. For me it's hard to say which episode exactly is my favorite since there's so many good ones. Episode 9 was pretty good, but then again the prologue for Death the Kid was a good one too. Then again the end episode and seeing the full potential of each against Asura, though I won't spoil it for anyone who wants to watch the series, and yet it's so hard to do. And yes got to love symmetry, and to always remember to fold the toilet paper ends into neat little triangles. XD Indeed, but I think I learned a bit more on my own then I would have from the band teacher anyways. Too bad my mother didn't see it that way though and sold my clarinet. >< And no worries I'm sure it'll come back up soon enough, I'm just happy to know about it now so thank you. :D Lol someday our brains will do what we want them to. That's probably one of the reasons that I'm rather hesitant to watch the anime of some of the mangas that I read first. I understand that the mangas usually have more depth to them then the animes, but I still can't help feeling disappointed when I read the manga then the anime and they're completely different. The other way around on the other hand I can definitely handle. XD

I remember getting kicked out of a few rps for that while in others people were willing to help me. I do remember though the first site I started to really rp on had a post limit unlike mene where the sky's the limit, so when I moved to sites like this where there wasn't a posting limit it was hard to get more than what I typically posted. And that is true, you do learn from those that might seem to be a bit more advanced then yourself, I know that's how I learned as hard as it was lol. Although when I look back on it I can't help but wonder how it was so hard back then to do it. :XD I know right? I absolutely hate when that happens. You get a really good idea and then you can't write it down or procrastinate and then you can't remember anything about it. It especially sucks when you get ideas in your dreams too. Actually one of the rp ideas I have on the front page came from one of my dreams. If I remember correctly it was the man eating monster one. @.@ Although I always found it difficult to try and remember those kinds of ideas anyways. >< It is always nice though to find someone who feels similar about the same thing. :D And I can understand, I know I've had a share of bad experiences with it, but I've had some rather fun ones too. :D I agree. Usually my limit is two pages of reading to catch up on if I'm gone personally, but when others are gone I do try my best to slow it down a bit. I will say that with my rps I'll typically offer to provide a summary of what happened, although there's times I don't like to do it like when you know the person your giving it to never actually reads the posts even when they're there. I've actually had people request summaries of what happened when there were only two posts more then when they left and each post was only a paragraph or two long. I wasn't exactly thrilled about that to say the least. I did have one rp though where the minute I posted there was at least five or six other posts that suddenly appeared. It got to the point where if you slept you usually had at least six pages of reading to catch up on and the worst part of it was I was to play the villain. @.@ Now because of that experience I'm always hesitant to play a 'bad guy' because I worry that I'll suck at either keeping up or playing it. >< I agree, with that. I enjoy making characters, though when it comes to playing them I prefer to mainly focus on the main ones. I'll throw side ones in to move the plot along or give something for another person to reply to if needed, but I don't like playing more than one for an extended period of time. Of course occasionally there's exceptions such as with the Demi God roleplay I joined, but then I usually would just limit myself to playing two sort of 'main' characters in an rp to just one rp like that. :sweat: I know right? Questions are always good, and as anyone learns once they get to know me I ask a hell of a lot of them. I like to know things lol I can be nosy sometimes.

Now back to the role play, I'm okay with figuring out the whole why thing inside the role play it could give them a reason for looking deeper into things. Other then just running away or fighting their way out of things there's a whole mystery surrounding it that they have to find out. So yeah. I can see that your a writer, another one of my many questions sure to come is how much do you generally write per post? Oh and when do you want us to get started off? Should I make the thread or would you rather do it?

Oh and another quick question what should the time period be? I'm partial to earlier times, but modern is okay too. Unless the world we use is different in which case I'm not sure

well first i want to know what are your cravings first. I am very open minded and can pretty much do anything as long as its interesting.

Psycho Alice: Well I do always encourage questions, and I'll provide answers if I have them. I'll answer whatever questions I can though I'm sure you'll find I'm a rather flexible person. :XD

I figured that would give the plot a bit more depth and give us a little more to write and deal with. As to how much I generally write per post that all depends on a number of factors. The first is generally how much interest and motivation I can achieve with a roleplay. The second is the person/people I'm roleplaying with. Generally I try to match the amount that I'm given at the very least, though there are times where there may be a paragraph or so difference. It also, sadly, will depend upon their preference on how much they wish to read. And the third is how much information I'm given and how many details I'm given to work with. The more details that are provided to me the more details I can supply in return. I will back track my posts to match the information given and bring it to the present if the situation calls for it, which may or may not effect my post length. How much time I have to reply will also generally effect my posts. If I need to go somewhere and I've started on a reply post I will generally post it, even if it's unfinished though in that case I'll state that I'll be adding more to it when I have time, which is generally sometime that same day.

For starting us off I'm pretty much good to start whenever, though it is rather late at the moment. It doesn't matter to me who starts the thread, although if it's preferred I do then I probably won't get to it until a bit later once I've slept a bit.

For the time period it again doesn't matter too much for me. If you prefer it to be an earlier time period then that's fine with me. I was decent at history, and wherever I'm lacking in terms of knowledge I'm not afraid to research a bit.

I can understand all those factors, because those are what affect my post length. I usually try to match what my partner writes, I'm okay with really long posts. Once in a role play me and my partner were up to a couple thousand words in length. But I don't think I want to go that far lol.

For the time period I was thinking somewhere around the 1800's if you don't mind. I'm not sure how much our characters will be interacting with others so there shouldn't be too much research involved. I don't know I'm still debating... no no I'm sure I want to make it around the 1800's.

The one nice thing about role playing with a really good writer is that I strive to get better and better so that my partner enjoys the role play just as much as I do. I'm looking forward to getting it started. I don't mind starting the thread but it's getting late here as well and I have a class tomorrow (later in the day but still ><). I don't think it matters which of us starts the thread as long as we PM the link to the other person.

Or perhaps it was just my imagination that that didn’t seem like another person on her account…ugh. I feel horrid talking like this! It’s just…I’ve had SO many people start plotting something with me and just suddenly becomes uninterested before we even think of something!

@Psycho Alice: Lol well there is always the chance of that happening, depending on the situation, although I don't typically count the number of words in my posts. I'm actually rather fine with long posts as well and don't mind reading, so there's no need to restrain or hold back. :D

And sure I don't mind doing the time period as the 1800s. I'm actually decently versed in that time period anyways so it's all good. :D Plus it does make rps like this more interesting when you don't have the advanced technology aspect of it too. :D

Lol I agree, I tend to try to do the same. I may not have the fanciest vocabulary, but I do try to change it up. XD And it doesn't matter to me who starts the thread either so long, as like you said, one of us PMs the other. What might help us in deciding is how we want the first post to be set up, such as if we want to post up any sort of short and basic profile of our characters or just jump right into roleplaying.

Lol indeed it is, and I love the fact that even as you get older the Disney classics are still always good. I will say though the sequels that they have a tendency to make with the classics aren't always on that level by far. :sweat: Indeed it is one of those awesomely made shows that stay addicting. XD Lol I know right there's just so many episodes to choose from that's it's hard to narrow down to just one. The first Excalibur episode with Kid and Black Star is just pure comical. The ultimate weapon with the...erm...'ultimate' personality. XD And it really is hard to not spoil it for sure. :sweat: Lol yeah the only thing you can really say to that is you just have read/watch it yourself. Although it does suck when people post things like that since not everyone has seen or even heard of Soul Eater, and it always seems to ruin it for potential people you know? Lol if it wasn't the toilet paper bothering him it was the paintings, and I loved how he couldn't do anything until he knew if it was his imagination or not even if one of the other characters were in danger. I thought with Asura he'd be in the force field and then suddenly start worrying about the candles or the symmetry of the school, or a painting, or something you know? XD Got to love things that heal rotten moods too. :XD :D And I agree. Things like sets and whole series are starting to become really expensive now you know? I'd much rather first get it free, then slowly work on getting the 'legal' copies one at a time and when it's within budget you know? :D Lol same here. And really that's about how it is with any movie too. Generally the rule is if you read the book first then watch the anime/movie you will usually be disappointed in some way. It's better to go into the book with the lesser information first, then to watch with the full knowledge first by far. I will say though it's difficult to know if a manga series is an anime series yet since there's quite a few times the manga comes out before the anime is even created, and there's time I just don't want to wait that long. Ah the prices we must pay. :cry:

XD Some of the posts and threads I've seen have been so bad with grammar, spelling, and sentence structure that I swear my eyes are bleeding and needing to be clawed out. :sweat: And I don't expect everything to be perfect, after all I have my flaws with grammar as well, but at least make an effort you know? With spelling a simple tool called 'spell check' really does help. I know when I type I'm constantly using it. I've actually used it a couple times just now. And it's not like it's unreachable or expensive. Hell firefox has one built into it and it's free. It's just pure insanity. @.@ Yeah I'm not sure if I ever will return to Gaia, especially if it's that bad.

When starting up the role play I like it when we add a profile gives me a view of the characters.
Like you I prefer the 1800's or later times because.... well I've always found them more interesting lol. What I think should be in the first two posts, is a profile with simple things, name, age, bio, and anything else we want to add. There should also be a short summary of what this is all about.

I mean I haven’t read an actual book forever – because my iPad has everything on it! So if I can get it on the iPad, whether free or not, I’m not going to bother filling up my room with more…cram XD My room is a disorganized mess as it is.

Ah, yeah. That’s generally how it is with anime/movies or anything. There’s a few movies that were just..ruined because I read the book first and was utterly disappointed. Harry Potter is one of the few that didn’t do that XD I’m not one of those hardcore HP fans who gets angry with every single piece of information that doesn’t show up in the movie. I mean, with manga it’s a little different. Because there can be so much information that they cut out of the anime.

I absolutely hate cutting things down and have gotten to the point where…I almost just would rather quit then cut my paragraphs down for my partner. I understand if it’s three pages long and they don’t want to read it, but honestly, some think five paragraphs is a killer T.T

I think an English teacher could count XD I mean it is a teacher/mentor! Not in a roleplaying sense I suppose…but sort of the same thing..? Lol, well, I only had that ‘mentor’ for maybe a couple weeks…because the site decided to close down for good. It sucked. But I started writing fan fics…my first was a crossover between Inuyasha and Fullmetal Alchemist XD So much fun..but seeing as though I was 11 at the time..reading it all over (and I actually finished it :P) it really sucked XD

If only I could remember my dreams – because some of them are absolutely whacky. Especially the ones that I can’t tell are dream or reality. Those bug me…ugh. Haha, man eating monster XD Makes for a good story :P
I agree with that. There can’t always be a bad experience with the same thing!

I hate…lazy people. I’m lazy at times, but there are definitely some that take laziness to an extreme that I didn’t believe possible XD

I just realized that I usually play the protagonist…I think I’ve played the villain a couple times..but not much. I don’t even think about it. I just throw in whatever character I’m ‘feeling’ at the time..

I can only do two characters..hence the word doubling XD Three is just way too crazy for me and I can never keep up!

Haha, one day I’m going to ask them if they’re capable of going ‘outside the box’, just because I know someday I’ll crack from annoyance. DX

Oh me too with the threads :P Oh my god…I know the feeling. I’ve often had the desire to become a grammar Nazi..which I usually am not. Because people don’t make a concerted effort whatsoever. I don’t care if they have SAT word vocabulary, but if they don’t know the difference between “their” and “there” and make constant other mistakes, then I get annoyed. I can understand OOC talk – like this. But…really. At least use spell check! And yes! Firefox and word processor; every browser these days have it! People need to take advantage of it!

Oh it was absolutely awful. I believe I finally wrote a response back to her saying “Er…I’m sorry but I couldn’t understand a word you wrote.” With a sweating smilie at the end…I don’t think she’s going to write back to that and hasn’t…but…I would be embarrassed to write like that.

I agree, I mean, roleplaying is the same as writing so we should at least attempt to put into the roleplay what we know from real life.

Yeah, it’s really sad. I wish people would just come out straight and tell me they’re not interested; I can handle it! Yeah, I know. It sucks even more when you haven’t even started and it’s something you’ve been craving. Ugh. This sort of thing is just something all roleplayers go through – and I’m sure most are guilty of ‘dropping out’ as well in the past. But I do inform my buddies if something is wrong and I need to drop out for a while!

Ah, they are both just great – love them both to pieces XD If they were real…haha, I think I’d have to glomp both of them XD Lol, I love when Black Star does that to her XP
