A guy sitting opposite me on the subway yesterday was reading A Feast for Crows. He was over half way through. It's fine to stare at people on public transport as long as you never make eye contact.
In an effort to get some more room on my bookshelf I'm going to pick up where I was in the Wallander series. Detectives and snow are the best combination.

90% of the people who read on public transport just want to show off the fact that they're reading a good book.

Iltu -
I get where you're coming from. Some parts of that one lagged for me as well. But at the rate I flew through the first two I think I might have just been getting over it a little by ASOS. Not that it wasn't good, but I was kind of overloading on it.
You can never go wrong with Shakespeare, so that sounds like a good plan! Especially with how busy you're going to be.
Knerd -
You've got a point. I think that because I read it so close to finishing Game of Thrones and jumped right into a Storm of Swords I didn't really get the pause to look at it as a stand alone.
I do really admire Martin's character development when it comes to just about everyone that pops up in the series.
Also, did you get the ping of my request for you to add my new list to the front page?
Cherry -
*peer pressures* xD
It's definitely worth a read.
------
Oh! And I won another book this morning! Illusion by Frank Peretti. I've never read anything by him (nor can I really say I've delved into "Christian fiction" before), but it seems that all of his other books have fairly high ratings on Goodreads... so that's promising. The story certainly does catch my interest, so I guess we'll see how this goes once it gets here.
--------
EDIT:
Haha. I only read on public transport when the book is too good to put down.... most of the time. I finished Game of Thrones on my train home from Chicago over the summer. And I can admit to bringing A Feast For Crows on the bus one day in hopes of spawning conversation with someone else who's read the series since I was feeling particularly social that day... didn't work though, sadly.

Trying to decide if this is something I can tackle for this year as it has been very crazy so far...6 day weeks at work and then the one day off working on the house recently acquired.
So I will just post this here to track it..Although at the moment I'm rereading Prelude to Foundation..

Thanks Kat. I've used that format before in the last couple of years that I've done the book challenge. It's pretty easy to use. Plus it makes it easier to see what books I've read and haven't. (Before I took up the challenge, I wound up rereading the same books, at least this way I can see what books still need to be read.) I'm happy that I'm pretty close and so soon. I nearly didn't make it last year as I had stopped my challenge to work on NanoWrimo (National Novel Writing Month).
The only problem I had with using the format was putting new entries in, so I thought I'd just go ahead and have it planned out that way I only would need to plug in the info.

NaNo is amazingly fun. I won this past year and have been editing my novel little by little. It'll probably take me another full year before it's actually done, but writing that often is really satisfying.

I'm both curious and worried about what she's going to publish.
I think that a lot of fans are going to be horribly disappointed in whatever she writes, just because it doesn't have the same emotional resonance that Harry Potter had for them. While other fans are going to absolutely love her because she's their god. Whatever she writes, the reviews are going to be split right down the middle.

I'd like to see what the book is about before deciding anything but if there's too much hype and people get overexcited it might put me off a bit (wrong, I know but bleh).
I won a book on Goodreads so I hope it arrives before I go home for a couple of weeks at Easter.
