I wonder why thinking back on it now, but I actually DID watch it in the beginning. So yes it was tolerable at one time.

I have this odd feeling of guilt whenever I feel nostalgic, like I'm only 18! I have more ahead of me than behind me.
I still get nostalgic, as a kid I spent more time around older folks than any but a few friends my age, and my mother was a scholar who, at the time, looked at history with rose colored glasses, and told me about it, a lot. So, like many young people now, I have nostalgia starting at the 19th century, until the 90's. Yeah.

I grew up mainly with older adults myself, as well. I've always had an appreciation for the present, and the past, because of it. Never really did go through an immortality complex. Made me into a lover of nostalgic things.

If not for the daycares I attended for most of my childhood days I would have grown up around mostly adults as well. I was the only kid in my family until my younger cousin came when I was 12. I am 25 now though and childhood has changed a great deal since mine despite that it doesn't seem like it was that long ago. The 90's I mean still feel like just a few years back. But in my childhood computers and video games were at their beginnings and not yet super popular. Now every home in at least America has a computer and every kid some video game console. I still have video games, I have a Wii, a DS and a PS2 I actually like never play anymore. Instead of VHS it's now DVD and soon it will be blu-ray(ugh).
A short time can hold a lifetime of differences.

I grew up with computers even though I was a kid of the 90s. My dad worked (and still does) work for a major computer company, so we had a comp even when other families had no idea what one was.
I've never been big on game consoles. Got a Wii when I was in high school, but that was it. I hope blu-ray doesn't win over DVD, I think they're ridiculous.

My first experience with a computer was when I was around six and my dad bought one. I would play some of those old interactive story games but other than that I was not heavily into computers until I was 13 and got interested in the internet.
I didn't really get into video games until the 5th grade when I had my super Nintendo. Today I play what consoles and games I do have little.
I hope blu-rays don't take over either, I completely agree with the ridiculousness, even more so I don't want ebooks to take over. I love books and absolutely detest the idea despite that I CAN see how it makes some situations easier. Text books are the only exception. I would have LOVED a textbook ereader when I was in high school. Especially on the once yearly(I am pretty sure it was once yearly) locker inspection day when you had to completely empty your locker during a certain period. This meant carrying every single book you have all the way to your classroom and then back to your locker when it was done.
But for novels and other pleasure reads, I don't see the huge necessity.

You sound pretty similar to me. I don't remember when the first computer was brought home, but I remember thinking paint was the coolest of cool things. Then I got the Barbie video games and ohhh man was it fun. XD
I still am not into video games. I do want an XBox 360, but it's not like I'm going to buy it just to have it. I need to be able to afford it.
Eventually something is going to replace DVDs, I get that, but I don't want it to be bluray. Bluray is just an expensive term for DVD and it isn't any better.
Textbooks are indeed the only thing I would buy on an ereader except for the free classics.

It does appear we are a lot alike :)
I liked The Disney story book games for the computer; I specifically remember having the Lion King one, I also remember having a Land Before Time interactive story game and a Magic School Bus game based on the episode where they go inside a student named Arnold's body.
I got into the internet in the 7th grade when I switched a Choir class I didn't want for a technology class. It was pretty much free internet. The only thing he really encouraged us to do was make a webpage using one of those sites that let you choose from layouts like Homestead or Maxpages. I miss Maxpages, it died and I had a good Pokemon site going that I had worked hard on.

I had a few of the Barbie games and a few of the Cluefinders games. I really liked both of them. ^.^
I also remember that episode of Magic School Bus vividly! I loved that show when I was young.
When it became available, I would poke at the internet every now and then, but didn't really get into it until about 2005 when internet speeds started getting faster and video streaming was possible (even though the wait was awful). I also started writing fanfictions and visiting some forums. Those were the good old days. I really really got into it when video streaming became high speed and I could watch anime online. So about 2007, there.

I LOVED the Magic School Bus as a child.
Haha, I started fanficing in 2004 myself when I got addicted to the old Sitcon 'Full House'. God all those fics are just horrible now especially because I had begun using the script format for god knows what reason. It's just sloppy and the ideas of my fics then just stupid.

The only time I really feel nostalgic is when food, with lots of sugar, is involved.

I never really watched that many Disney movies. I'll trade you Pokemon for Disney and we'll both round out of childhoods. When I was ten I was watching The Wire. Not exactly your most normal childhood xD.

lol omigod... i just discovered like a couple weeks ago that like half of the guys in my calculus class are total pokémon nerds XD and they're all juniors in high school and they show not one bit of shame one of them just downloaded a pokémon emerald app on his iphone and he's been playing it like nonstop in class like every day. then i leaned over his shoulder one day and gave him some pointers and he was like go away and stop bothering me XD probably because i was right :P oh well. i love pokémon... my younger brother got me into it like forever ago. i miss the old games... soulsilver is my fave tho ^^ too bad black and white didn't have better pokémon though... that made me kinda sad. the storyline was awesome though. i'm debating on whether to get the new black or white2 game or not... i don't really have much free time due to physics and calculus... i miss pokémon.
as for other things that make me nostalgic: i think someone already said this, but *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys lol... i haven't listened to them since i was like 12. i love their harmonies ^^ their songs have a nice full sound and i love it ^^ my best guy friend pokes fun at me because i'm usually more of a bullet for my valentine/breaking benjamin/evanescence/owl city/black veil brides/avril lavigne person but whatevs :P i like it, so there.
let's see... sharing a room with my little brother on the holidays when our house is crammed full of relatives and we all end up doubling or tripling up on bedrooms/sleeping space. so last christmas he and i were both sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor in the foyer room and it was like 10:00 pm and we were supposed to be going to bed and we just kept talking and talking just like when we used to share a room when we were in grade school :P we ended up going to bed at like 1 in the morning XD it was so much fun though...

I was just thinking this past weekend how much I missed Saturday morning cartoons. Sure, thanks to the wonders of cable and the internet, we can watch them anytime we want, but there is not that sense of anticipation that made them special. Same thing goes for Sunday afternoon monster movies. When I was a kid, these were what made the weekends special.

Listening to the Pokemon 2 B A Master CD, and N*SYNC's No Strings Attached CD. Every time songs from either of those starts up, my, my fiancee, and our roommates all start singing along. Even now, we still remember all of the lyrics.
But for "just me", I get really nostalgic when I listen to music from the 60s and 70s. I grew up listening to those songs and it just really brings me back to being a little kid.
