Jack thought for a moment, "I think it came from out front." She started towards the front yard, walking slowly so Erik could catch up.

No knives! Kairana was surprised that the only knives there were butter knives.

"Seriously, how do you cook a meal only using butter knives?" she grumbled. Gunshots and a loud crash came fom the front, and as she hurried out of the kitchen, she saw Jack running to the shed. Kairana followed her, and saw the zombie Erik had killed.

Kairana hurried after Jack and Erik. She hoped whatever that noise was didn't mean something bad had happened to everyone still outside.

Riley groaned inwardly, not finding anything of use in her end. It was maddening that she couldn't find anything. She hoped that whoever lived here was dead from the uselessness of everything. "No weapons in a place where the world could end, nice." Hearing the gunshots, she ran outside, following the others. She eyed the zombie that Erick had killed in slight disgust, but then looked around wondering if there were more. She walked out to the front yard, trying not to fall into a daze again.

Posting as: GOD!!! As everyone rounded into the front yard, they saw the reason for the loud crash. A line of trees in the forest across the road had fallen, creating a domino effect. Trees that were still standing swayed roughly, as though some incredible force shoved against them repeatedly. The loud crash had been the last tree to fall. Roughly the top quarter of the tree had fallen onto the cab of the truck. No one was hurt, but the engine of the truck was crushed. Faint, but growing louder came moans from within the forest.

erik's eyes widened as he looked to his truck, then to the zombies.
"...mother... alright, let's get into the house. we need to barricade quickly!"
moving towards the house with the tools. there weren't any real options.

Andres jumped up and joined the group to barricade the house. "Jesus.. What are we going to do now?!" Andres looked around for any items to barricade the building with.

(Sorry about being gone for so long everyone, lately I've been getting truck loads of school work.. -_-)

Kairana started and stared first at the fallen trees, then, at last, at the zombies.

"Did they do that?" she said, wonderingly. She followed Erik and Andres into the house, refusing to allow her movements to become sluggish. Sluggish was not good, especially when there were zombies to avoide, and houses to baracade. Sluggish was not helpfull, it usualy made things harder on the person at the receiving end... And she needed to cut that out and start thinking about what was needing to be done. Not about being sluggish. Really. 'So cute it out!' she hissed at herself, and shook it off. For the time being.

Posting as: GOD!!! As they began to barricade the house, Jack leaned a board against a wall, trying to maneuver it towards a window. With a loud creaking sound, the wall caved in. Termites and mold spores spilled out of the jagged edges of the wall.

Posting as: Jack... "Oh, Shit!!!!" Jack jumped away from the wall. "This is a lost cause. if we hurry, we can beat them back to town...."

erik looked to jack.
"we gonna walk there? truck was smashed."
he looked out to the zombies.
"not much choice though."

Andres looked towards Jack. "You're right... Everyone needs to run as fast as they can back towards town.. In this situation,we don't have much of a choice!" said Andres with a look of anger from this problematic situation.

Riley grit her teeth at the situation. "Yeah, it's safer this way." She said this silently as she scanned for where it would be safest to walk. What could she do at this point? She usually thought of "the now" and not the future, but then again there weren't others that thought about the future involved. She was falling in and out of a daze, but shook her head and moved quickly.

posting as: GOD!!! The zombies were still far enough into the forest that the front line of them was barely visible, and the main source of concern was the trees being knocked over by the sheer weight of so many bodies. The zombies moved so slowly that they could easily be out-walked, as long as town was reached by dark. It is currently just a little after noon.

Posting as: Jack... Jack started grabbing bags out of the back of the truck, trying to keep as many supplies as possible. "Come on!"

Kairana helped Jack grab the bags of supplies.

"How many miles away from town are we, anyway?" she asked.

Andres followed Jack and helped her grab the bags quickly. "Alright, now what?" said Andres reaching for the bags.

Jack finished gathering the bags, and set off down the road towards town, the dog following close at her heels. " Come on, we can make with a few hours to spare if we hurry, it's only about 5 miles." She looked back, waiting to be followed. "We need to get there before dark, that's when those shadow things come out. Lucky for us, those zombie fucks are slow." She lit up a cigarette, and readjusted the bags on her shoulder.

erik went into the back of the truck to an already opened box, that he had opened when he was looking for the antifreeze.
"there we go."
he grabbed a couple bottles of oil and moved to the cab, leaning in and grabbing his bible, along with a few energy pills.
"alright."
he immediately ran after the group and caught up.

Jack took a long drag off her cigarette, as she resigned herself to the long trek back into town. She mind wandered to her old boyfriend, wondering again if there was someway he had made it out of there. She shook her head swiftly, trying to rid her head of that nonsense. He was dead, there was no way he'd gotten out of the city, the zombies were coming from that way, and there was at least a thousand of them.

erik pulled out one of the cigarillos and lit it, smoking at it as they moved.
"well, let's see. if we get back to the city.. can those ghost things climb?"
tilting his head as he looked towards jack.

Jack shook her head "I don't think so, but they go through walls. I think getting on a roof would be our best bet."

Posting as: GOD!!! The zombies hadn't made it out of the tree-line yet, but the moans echoed eerily down the mostly empty highway.

erik thought for a moment.
"what's the best place in town for that? tallest roof?"
walking swiftly and tapping the ashes onto the ground.

Jack shrugged. "I'm not really sure, I haven't lived there all that long, I figure we can check it out once we get there. We should have a few hours of daylight left of we walk fast." She smiled. "We're lucky they're slow... Walk for your lives!!!" She took another drag and flicked the ashes onto the barren pavement.

erik chuckled and took another puff, nodding.
"yea. but if we take too long, those ghost things will be around us, and we'll be kinda screwed..."
he nodded to the couple bottles of oil he got.
"we might be able to use these, fire's always good..."

Jack smirked "Fire's good, if we can keep it properly contained, however, I dunno if it will help with the shadow things. As for the zombies, I bet they'll just walk through it, and we'll have flaming zombies. That could be really dangerous. they might catch our building on fire."

erik nodded.
"but fire means light, and they seemed to not like light so much... maybe we can pick up some metal trash cans."
nodding.
"and some wood.... gonna have to get food too..."
thinking as he walked.
"got any super markets in town?"

Jack nodded, "That's true, we just need to be careful, won't be any less dead if we get lit on fire." She ground her cigarette butt out on the pavement. "Damn zombies... why'd the world have to go and end now anyways?"
