Slowly but surely, I am getting through The Count of Monte Cristo! I read it during the cut scenes as I am playing KH2 >.>;

I started reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but put it aside for now because I do not own a copy of it.

It looks like a good book, and I enjoyed the others in the series.

My favorite book of the Harry Potter Series is the first one - the Sorcerer's stone.

The same thing with the Redwall series and the Chronicles of Narnia. I liked the first books - Redwall, and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe - the best of all.

I've read most of the books, but own them all through High Rhulain, I had a bit of an obsessed Redwall phase. XD; But I haven't kept up with it since that last book. I read The Bellmaker first from the series (by teacher's recommendation), so that one's probably my favorite, though I didn't know it was part of a series at that time. >.<

I read about 60 pages of Good Omens last night, and am loving it so far~
I had to put it down though, otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten any sleep. XD;

I'm on my... third Carnegie book, Crusade, by Elizabeth Laird. I read Jake's Tower a couple of year's back. Her writing doesn't strike me in the way Rosoff's does - in fact, it's rather simple, but she's adept at presenting her characters and doing her research. cx And it's got me hooked. I don't usually go into that sort of era... and I'm afraid I'm thinking ROBIN HOOD every five minutes as I read it (RICHARDARMITAGERICHARDARMITAGE! *swoon*). I like the dogs. cx It'll be interesting to see how it develops. ;)

Last week I went through the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman, and was enchanted. Next I need to start The Beekeeper's Apprentice, or so says my best friend.

Mind if I ask why you like her so much?
I've only read one of her books (Joust), and it really didn't impress me much. I actually gave the book away because I felt guilty just letting it sit on my shelf.
Should I give her a second chance?

I heard a lot about Mercedes Lackey, so I tried her, and I have say I was less than impressed, as well.

It's not that there's anything wrong with her stories, it's just that her writing style didn't interest me. There was so much repetition, like she didn't think her reader could remember what happened a chapter ago. That was really my main problem with her - I felt like she treated her audience like a couple of idiots.

I actually like her books a lot, but I have only read some of her Valdamar books, though.

When I read her, I saw why people might like her stuff, but it simply failed to catch my interest.

I should probably read another series from her before I pass judgement.
Maybe my library has a few of her books...

@Knerd- I have not read Joust yet so I don't know about it. I read the Valdamar books. I like her a lot, but the main reason why I have read so many of her books is because I just managed to get all of the Valdamar books and I wanted to read them in order. If I stopped to read anything else I would never finish them. I have a bad problem of skipping around. If I were you I would try one of her Valdamar books. I like them more then the others and at least then you would know that you didn't like her books. My favorite book by her his Take a Thief. Unlike many of her other books you don't really have to know the characters from the other books to understand what is going on. You might try it or the Arrow series as they are the first ones.

What kind of books do you usually read?
The book I'm reading right now, called War & Peace, is 696 pages... Its taking me a while. XD

Pretty much everything, though I really like urban fantasy and sci-fi.
I've actually never read War &Peace...always meant to though.

When I was younger I was really into sci-fi books... But now I'm into non-fiction and historical... War & Peace is a historical book about Napoleon... Basically, the war between France & Russia. Its by Leo Tolstoy. Its a very old book... But I found it at a used book store for ONLY $6 dollars, a HARD cover, super OLD edition too, so I had to buy it!

So far, its really fascinating... Lots of Nobel man going off to war and saying goodbye to their loved ones...

I've never read anything by Turtledove... I really love spaghetti western movies though.. Those are the BEST. Yeah, lately Used book stores are like my home, cause Barnes & noble and Borders are tooooooo expensive! I don't wanna pay $50 for ONE book. D:
