My face hasn't frozen yet. xD
Hmm, interesting idea.
I also have a feeling that her immunity to all the special vampire powers will, in itself, become a power. Maybe... she'll be able to use peoples' powers against them?
Like, for example, she wouldn't be able to read everyone's mind, but she'd be able to read Edward's.
I dunno. *shrug*

Yeah... well... *put ice on your face* Now it'll freeze! >:

Congrats Veelana! That's so exciting. You'll have to tell us when you pick out a name.

On to the books:
Summer is the best time for library sales. I just bought about 6 books for $1.75. It's amazing.

I now own:
Marat/Sade by Peter Weiss
The Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe
The Exile by Pearl S. Buck
Palace Walk (Part One of the Cairo Trilogy) by Naguib Mahfouz
A Medicine for Melancholy by Ray Bradbury
A Graveyard for Lunatice by Ray Bradbury

I think I'm just going to have to lock myself in my basement for a few days...

I'm starting A Clockwork Orange while I wait for Eclipse to get here.
Hope I can finish it before it gets here. Otherwise, I know it'll get cast aside as soon as I open the package for Eclipse. XD

EDIT: Hohgod, this book is kicking my ass. @_@

Hehe - thanks everyone for the congratulations!
We'll probably keep th name a state secret until our little one is born - everyone commented on the last name we picked and it became unusable for us. We originally wanted to call our son "Elric" ...
If ya'll promise not to kick the names we picked into the dirt too much, I'll tell ya what we came up with so far...

@Knerd: I never get anything good at library sales :-( I'm always dissappointed...
I got a couple of picture books last time for Dorian, but that was it...

I am reading Every Boy's Got One, and I have to say, it is very interesting. I like it, although I have no idea who Wondercat is myself. x.x

@ jessieomer:
Ohmygosh! The one by Cabot?
I actually just finished that about two weeks ago!

I loved it; it was really funny but it could still make me swoon. X3
-giggled throughout the book-

"Why do you keep staring at my ankles?"
"Why do you keep staring at my crotch?!?"

@ cherry:
You're so going to roll your eyes well I tell you the plot...
xD
Rivals... become... lovers. O____O;
Don't kick me.

But it's really well written; Meg Cabot is a bestselling author, so she pulls off the the idea perfectly!
A couple ( Holly and Mark ) is getting married ( er, eloped in Italy ), and the groom's best man ( Cal ) and the bride's ... uh... person ( Jane; forgot the word for it. >>;; ) hate each other. xD
And it's all documented in Jane's travel diary ( which was originally the wedding gift, but then she wrote mean stuff about Cal and it couldn't be a gift anymore XD ), Cal's PDA, and the many texts that are sent. xD

It's a very nice twist on the ol' rivals-to-lovers thing, not to mention Cal's like, anti-marriage at first. xD

Edit;
Here's my old post about it:
Quote:
I feel all giddy... >>;
I finished reading Every Boy's Got One, by Meg Cabot last night~
I really liked it, even if the whole enemies-to-lovers thing is so cliche. xD;;

I like the twist Cabot put in the writing, where you figure everything out from the travel diary, the emails they sent with their Blackberries, and Cal's PDA entries.
I also like the setting of it being about their friends eloping in Italy, instead of just...
Friend's friends meet and their friends hangout and they know each other better, etc.
And at least there's none of the overdone scene where somehow they're trapped in a closet or the house or whatever and they're forced to talk to each other ( though they did kind of drive to Rome together, but that's a different story. Kind of. >>; )

Overall it was very funny and I think that the twists Cabot added to the plot really saved it from being cliched. I'd definitely recommend it to romance lovers.
:9
Ironically, it was the post right on top of Jessie's list. xD;;

@ shan:
xD

Why don't you keep a To-Read list under your book list? :3
It helps me keep track of books I want to read while staying organized.

I should probably keep a list like that, too. Maybe it'll help me decide what order I want to read all my books.

Tenten - Oh yeah, I've read Meg Cabot's books before.
Just the Princess Diaries books, though.
But it was so hilarious because like, the books are pretty mature at times, and the movie is geared to like, 9 year olds. And one time I saw this mom buying the books, and she had like, a six year old and a four year old. XD And I was just thinking "Your eyes are going to pop out of your head when they ask you what 'put out' means."
But I haven't read those books since I was like, 12. XD I should probably reread them.
And there's some other books I want to reread....

*should also add a To Read list to her list*
*goes to do so*

If she doesn't change, I'm going to choke a bitch.
It was cruel enough in Tuck Everlasting, if they do it here too... I'm going to... gah. Cry. Seriously. XD
Every time I watch Tuck Everlasting, I get all teary. But a book SERIES (not just one short book) that ends like that.... srsly cry. ;_;
Cause if she gets all old and dies and Edward's all young and alive.... That's so... sad. DX
I'll shoot Stephenie Meyer!

xD. I still have a ways to go before I hit 75 books. Especially since I have only read 7 x.x
This is going to be a long year, thank god.

Just finished Every Boy's Got One, and kudos to whoever mentioned it first when this whole thread was started. -ish a Cal Langdon fan- I can't help it, but man I thought he did a quick personality change by the end of the book. Oh how I wish it was longer.

@ Jessie:
I wonder, though, why he couldn't convince himself that it was just endorphins.
I mean, I'm really glad he didn't, but if he was such a devout believer of the falsehood of marriage, why wouldn't he be able to convince himself? =P;

xD. Endorphins make you happy. He must of had tons of endorphins at the end cause at the beginning he was the Armrest hogger. Also I find the fact that Jane has wonderat everywhere xD. Talk about obsessed or something. Well she was a pretty interesting character. And I think the only reason he couldn't convince himself to be anti-marriage all through the book is because they kept bringing up the subject of his ex wife Valerie, or however you spell her name. If Jane or anyone hadn't of mentioned that he would still be a heartless prat.

Well the two books right now on my todo list are Dark Paradise and The Secret o.o Both semi big books, although Im more than halfway through with Dark Paradise, so that one should be a sinch.

xDD
But I mean, she was a cartoonist of Wondercat; what can you expect? xD She loves her cartoon character! Of course she'll have him everywhere! xD
I think the reason he was so anti-marriage was because of Valerie, and because they kept bringing her up, he saw that she was the only reason he was anti-marriage and that not all marriages fail like his. I think Holly and Mark were the reason he felt more comfortable for marriage. His loving Jane pushed him into the direction that marriage was okay, because he didn't want his love to be nothing but a "crush" sort of thing?
Like, he loved her, and he didn't want himself to think he only loved her because of endorphins.
