Yay, great. Thanks. ^^ I'll work on a list tomorrow!
Does a love for reading run in the family for anyone?
Both my parents like to read. My dad with his awesome action and asian-warriors-on-the-cover books and my mom with magazines mostly. Out of the four of us, my younger sister is the only one that never picks up a book for fun. I'd like her to get into it, but it is what it is.
My grandma, dad, and mom all love(d) to read. :3 They were all pretty happy when I picked it up, too.
Now that my grandma's passed on, they decided I get all her books because no one in the family reads as much as I do. ^^
I am the only one who reads for fun in my family. D:
My parents apparently both liked to read when they were younger, but I can count with my fingers the number of books I remember seeing my mom read, though she rather likes magazines; and my father I cannot remember ever seeing complete a novel in my life. O_o
My little brother doesn't like reading. </3 Occasionally he reads a book, but his tastes are VERY narrow. Usually he reads books about wrestlers. O.o
Meanwhile, I read just about everything I can get my hands on... :U
My older sister...well, as far as I know, she's indifferent. She doesn't seem to dislike reading, but she is not as into it as I am either. xD
Both my grandma and my Mom love reading.
My grandma actually had a small library in her house. xD It was mostly filled with Harlequin Romance novels though. I remember when I was really young, before I could read anything bigger then the "A is for Apple" books, grandma would be reading in the den and I'd be on the floor pretending to read one of her books. Once I got old enough to read she took them away...
Two of my cousins read as well, they mostly raid my bookshelves though...
I used to a read a lot more than I do now but I blame my first year of sixth form for that. Personally my challenge is trying to actually read at the rate I buy books. Hopefully I won't be too depressed at the end of Brideshead Revisited. -_-
My family are pretty into reading. My mum reads every day because her journey to work on the bus is 45 minutes each way, but she tends to latch onto an author and only read their work for a while. I swear the last 8-10 books she's bought have all been John Grisham. My dad reads hardcore sci-fi like Larry Niven so I just leave him to it. XD
Dream_and_Die: A library sounds cool. It's sweet you got to spend time with your grandma like that. ^^
My grandmother is the only other one in my family who avidly reads. She and her friends are always exchanging books and mailing them to one another. That way no one has to buy very many for herself and they have access to just about everything under the sun.
My father will read historical drama and non-fiction, but he has so many other hobbies that he'll only read on-and-off. And my mother will fall for any popular Oprah pick. It'll take two months for her to read, but afterwards it's OMG the best book in the world and she can't stop talking about it and everything relates to this amazing book and wasn't it great?!
My brother's 'thing' is music, so we've worked out a bit of a system: I'll recommend him books and let him borrow what he wants from my library and he'll recommend me music and burn me CDs whenever he can. It's worked out so far.
I like reading, but so far I'm pretty picky on what I read. I read books from authors I know so I'm not usually dissappointed. I tried a random book before 'cause I liked the cover and the story seemed good, but it wasn't amazing in the end. :/
But with this challenge, I'll try to broaden my horizons! XD
Dream_and_Die // A home library is neat! Haha, I like romance novels, but not the ones with obvious book covers emphasizing the sexuality. I like romance mixed with mystery and comedy.
I need a bookshelf, LOL. My room's a mess so I planned on cleaning it before I got to my manga. x3
Knerd // That's cool between your grandma and her friends. I don't know anyone in real life that I would exchange books with or give recommendations.
Knerd: I'm a music-whore too. :3 I currently have 32 gigs of music on my hard drive and about five hundred CDs.
My friend's mom has this amazing library of books that she lets me borrow from any time, but I'm refusing to let myself get any new books until I finish the ones I have. x__x I sort of had three different people dump a whole load of books on me at once and I haven't gotten through them yet.
I'll just start now and see how far I get this year:)

My parents both like reading, but they both rarely have time for it.
I read in spurts. I'll go like, two weeks without touching a book, and then pick one up and finish it within 48 hours. xD
It depends a lot on what I feel like reading versus what I have. I'd like to read right now, but I don't have anything that I feel like reading.
What I want to read is another Max Barry book. D: But I don't have any of his others.
My challenge is going really lamely. xD I've read like, 12 different books out of fifty. xD
I blame Twilight. ;_; I read some of them twice. So if I had read a different book instead of rereading them, I'd be at, like, 15 or so.
Not a huuuge improvement, but... still.
And congratulations on being so close to finishing. :D
Those books were truly addicting.
Even if I was annoyed with some of the character's behavior at times.
I'm sure you'll get there, Cherry, you can't rush reading. -nodnod-
Thankees by the way!
I'm so excited, I'm pulling out books I had stored away and reading them again.
xDD
I'm way behind, unless I start counting all the books I re-read this summer. But then, I purposely set my goal high. If only there were more time during the day.
I'm still on book one, but it's a book I've tried to read more than a few times and rarely got past the first chapter. I think I'll pick up speed when it's finished, if I ever decide what I want to read next. XD

Yeah, same. xD I was also annoyed by the typos in the books. >>
There weren't many, but the ones that were there really annoyed me. Like, at the beginning of Twilight when Bella is describing her room at Charlie's house, it says "It had been belonged to me."
WHUT? DX
But they're still so addicting! I don't know why!
I'd talk about the books to my parents and make fun of them and they'd be like "...And WHY are you reading that AGAIN?"
"...I don't know. ;-;"

More evidence to support our twin theory... :ninja:
XD Twilight is oddly addicting. I have to see, the last one was suprisingly decent. I was very pleased by the fact that Bella and Jacob actually had (Oh my God!) depth to them finally.
Edward was still a crappy character, though--so one dimensional.
Eclipse just made me want to kill all of them.
My friend Jesse says, "The best part in all of those books was when Bella didn't talk."
Sadly, this is true. D: She's so whiny and dense. It was relieving to see her actually...do something in the last one.
