Small world, noh? xDD
Anyhow, cool~ :3 I never heard of that book though. =O I'll check it out when I can then. ;] As for me, I'm currently reading A Thousand Splendid Suns. It's by the guy who wrote The Kite Runner, in case you're more familiar with that book. =P
And really? Cool~ Cause I've read a bunch of books this year that I wouldn't wanna go to waste if I can help it. xD I'll wait for more confirmation though before I post my list and stuff~ I'm really interested in joining this community. 8D

Anyhow, just wanted to come in and say that I'm very interested in partaking in this challenge. :3 Although, may I clarify something before I post my reading list? =O We start from scratch, right? As in, we're only allowed to include the books we'll be reading after we post the list? Just wanted to verify~ =)
Thank you in advance, and again, lovely little thread you have here. ;]
|
You can start the list from whatever point you want. Just now, the beginning of the year, a few months ago, whichever. Just remember when it is, since you've got a year from then to finish. ^^

LOL I'm just going to go back to January 1st so that I can go with the year. It's easier that way... I guess I'll update my list on the weekend, because I'm supposed to be studying right now XD'
I still need to read the Twilight series D8; I've been meaning to for MONTHS, but I never got around to getting the book, so I might just see if the college library has it..

Once you do, you can fangirl with me! :D
If it's any incentive, the movie is coming out on November 21st. You should read the first book by then, so you can go see the movie!

I can try! Hopefully I'll finish before. I don't seem to have enough time for books (other than the ones for school 8D)
But I'll MAKE time if I can >w<

Oh trust me, once you get hooked on it, you'll finish it within twenty four hours. ^^
The first few chapters are just a little hard to get through since they're very... cliche and amateur.

|
Haha, that's why I wanted to read it. xD
We read an excerpt years ago in 7th grade, and I was like, this is so cool! And everyone looked at me like I was nuts. XD
But I've never got the book until just now. xD
No I haven't read it in Old English, I think this copy is current. :3

I thought that's how the whole series was. I wanted to read them. But there is so much bad press about the books.
Really a 100+ vampire going to highschool? I don't know. That always throws me off from Vampire books.

Yeeaahhh, and I can't see someone who's been around for 100+ years being attracted to a 17 year old, either. I mean, vastly immature compared to him, you know?
Just ignore that stuff. It's just fluff.

True. Chaucer was so raunchy. Kids these days think they're something special, but they can't tell dirty tales with the polish and wit of Chaucer...

Cherry - I don't mind vampires dating teenagers or whatever. It's just when they try to pass of as young its kind of weird. When I read vampires they've gotta have the old feel to them and yanno be dark and mysterious, "I lived through the dark ages.." type stuff. lol. OR be a newly infected human becoming a vampire. :D

:D I loved Interview With a Vampire. Not so much Queen of the Damned. It was really...difficult to get through. I've yet to read the others. >>
I really want to read her Sleeping Beauty trilogy. It sounds good.

Hi all~ :3
Anyhow, I've never read any Anne Rice books either. I've heard about them, but I'm not yet entirely sure if I wanna give them a read though. And what's this Sleeping Beauty Trilogy? That sounds interesting. =O

Really? owo I thought it was really interesting.
Though, I can see where her writing style could get a bit dull. ^^;
Rylynne: Anne Rice wrote the books under the alias "A. N. Roquelaure". They're an erotic take on the classic Sleeping Beauty story.

XD I'm not usually into it, either, but there are some nights where a hot steamy sex novel just sounds really good.

XD I got mine from my grandma. She had them all over the house so I started reading one. It was really funny by how...cliche it was, but I really enjoyed it.

From your grandma?! Now there's something you don't hear about everyday. xDD
And yeah, I know what you mean about the cliches in erotic novels. Guess that's part of the reason why I don't read them a lot (aside from the fact that it's just not my cup of tea xD). =P

XD Yeah, my grandma loved 'em. When she passed away, I got all her old books so now I'm loaded with cheesy romance novels.
I love opening them up to a random page and reading it aloud. It's always so funny.

Lol. xD I see~ My grandma loves cheesy romance novels too! But, she still has them, and I've only seen them a few times. She strangely keeps them in a small closet with a padlock on it. o_O I asked her about it once, and she said that she couldn't tell me why she keeps it locked. Makes me think that's there's more inside that closet than those novels. xDD
